The Miami Dolphins will play in Madrid in 2025!

For Madrid, the Miami Dolphins

It was expected, it's now official. The NFL announced that the Miami Dolphins have been selected to be the home team in Madrid, for the first game in NFL history in Spain. A match which will take place at the Santiago-Bernabéu Stadium, legendary home of the famous Real Madrid.

Miami will, however, have to wait to know its opponent. The latter, as well as the date and time of the match, will only be announced when the full schedule is published.

“We are thrilled to play the first NFL game in Spain, a country rich in history, tradition and passion. It's also home to a large Dolphins fan base. There is a hunger and desire for football in this market. We are proud to join the development of the game internationally with our old and new fans. » said Tom Garfinkel, President and CEO of the franchise.

The choice of the Miami Dolphins for the game is not a big surprise. On the one hand, it was understood that an AFC team would have the privilege of playing the game as host in 2025. On the other hand, the Dolphins, like the Chicago Bears, own the marketing rights to Spain. These rights are decided as part of the NFL's Global Markets Program.

Eight international matches

After the Colts for Berlin, the league has found its new home team for Madrid. In 2025, eight matches will be played internationally. Growth which confirms the NFL's ever-increasing attention to the international development of its brand.
