End of season (and playoffs) for Nakobe Dean (Eagles)

The fears of many Eagles fans are confirmed. According to NFL Media, linebacker Nakobe Dean suffered a torn patellar tendon in his knee during Sunday's game against the Packers. He is already out for the rest of the playoffs, and potentially for a long time…

A tear for a player on the rise. Aged 24, Nakobe Dean had an exceptional season with Philadelphia. For his third season, he made 128 tackles, 3 sacks, an interception, a forced fumble and two recovered fumbles. By far his most accomplished exercise.

In addition to his performances on the field, Vic Fangio will miss his presence doubly. The linebacker was in fact responsible for transmitting defensive calls to the group, a task which will now fall to Zack Baun.

Without Nakobe Dean, the Eagles must continue their flight

Before getting injured, Dean made two tackles for loss in the win over Green Bay. He was subsequently replaced by Oren Burks who should occupy the position until the end of the playoffs. After six seasons with the 49ers then the Packers, the latter made five tackles on Sunday. He was also the one who forced a fumble on the first kickoff of the game, putting Philadelphia on the right track going into the game.

If they are already qualified for the divisional roundthe Eagles do not yet know their opponent. Nick Sirianni's men will face the winner of tonight's game between the Minnesota Vikings and the Los Angeles Rams.
