As a symbol, the Bears snatch victory with a field goal at the buzzer. A few weeks after losing on a blocked kick, Chicago ended 11 straight defeats against the rival.
Far too tender offensively despite a large domination in terms of yards gained, the Packers logically bowed without ever having given the impression of really entering their match. They will therefore go to Philadelphia for the 1st round of the playoffs next week.
Chicago smarter and more realistic
Failing to see Caleb Williams (21/29, 148 yards, 1 TD) finally perform, the Bears are relying on their mischief to shine. On a punt return, Chicago fakes the position of the leather falling. Almost the entire Green Bay squad lets itself be fooled, and this offers an easy return of 94 yards for a touchdown.
The visitors hit the nail on the head at the start of the 2nd quarter. After a ball snatched from the hands of Jayden Reed, D'Andre Swift improved the turnover into a touchdown three plays later. Without having shown anything, nor really undertaken, the bears return to the locker room with two touchdowns and are ahead in the score.
Harmless attacks
Uninspired at the start of the match, Jordan Love had to give up his place at the start of the 2nd quarter, hit in the hand in a collision. Malik Willis, who succeeds him, starts well. The inevitable Josh Jacobs scores his 16th touchdown of the season.
Behind things are going bad. After a real offering from Keenan Allen transformed into a quarterback who sent the ball into the hands of McKinney, Willis immediately returned possession to the opponent on a sack that he did not see coming. On the following drive, the Packers failed on a 4th attempt. Too many wasted opportunities despite territorial domination largely in favor of the green and gold.
Chicago plans to do the hardest part by carrying out its one and only real offensive at the start of the last period. DJ Moore sneaks in for a 32-yard touchdown. Shortly after the touchdown of hope for the Packers, the same Moore guilty of a fumble allowed the locals to take the advantage with less than a minute to go and make it appear as if a hold-up had taken place. But this time, Chicago will seek success. Cairo Santos kicks 51 yards for a first victory in 5 years against Green Bay.
