Sam Darnold will have a second life
Whether in Minnesota or elsewhere, Sam Darnold will get a starting contract after 2024. Every week it seems more and more certain, and becoming the first Vikings quarterback to throw 5 touchdowns in over 20 years helps.
Is he the man of a season? Impossible to know. But a team will take the risk.
The Rams deserve the playoffs
The playoffs seem clear in the NFC: Lions, Eagles, Vikings, Packers, Seahawks and the winner of the NFC South will be there. But 7th place will surely be played out between the Rams, the 49ers and the Commanders.
The most enjoyable team to watch is the Los Angeles Rams. Even though the Niners are back at a good level, the fireworks against the Bills reminded everyone that, for a neutral fan, the spectacle will be better with the Rams in the playoffs.
Good news, the Rams and 49ers will explain themselves on Thursday evening.
The Buccaneers board the Falcons
Just a few weeks ago, the Falcons seemed to have opened up a gap in the division. Since then, the Buccaneers have been getting the job done every week while the Falcons have been diving. Kirk Cousins is not good, but the problem goes much bigger than him. The defense is shameful, and every pass thrown randomly by the opponent becomes a touchdown.
Tampa Bay has what the Falcons don't have: a leader in Baker Mayfield. Always fighting, always ready to sacrifice for the team, and leading to victory even on a bad day. Anything can happen, and Atlanta has the tie-breaker of direct confrontations, but the dynamic seems much better in Florida.
Bryce Young, then maybe?
Week after week, Bryce Young is better. It's far from perfect, and he's still below the level expected of a number 1, but it's looking increasingly likely that he'll have at least one more season to prove himself.
Against the Eagles, Bryce Young did everything he could, even throwing what seemed like the winning touchdown. Unfortunately for him, his receivers have hands coated in butter.
Jaguars move away from top pick
So winning is not always a good calculation.
The Dolphins are not dead
The stars will have to align, but the Dolphins qualifying for the playoffs is not yet impossible. Tua Tagovailoa resurrected this team, like Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. More importantly, they showed tremendous resilience to win in overtime against the Jets. The group is still involved, and that's not a detail.
The Seahawks will go to the playoffs
The surest way to qualify for the playoffs is to win the division. And to win the division, you have to win the confrontations within it. Over the last four weeks, the Seahawks won against the 49ers and twice against the Cardinals.
The right calculation for a group that is progressing everywhere, from defense to the running game.
You are a wizard Andy!
Andy Reid is one of the greatest coaches in history. But isn't he above all a sorcerer who casts evil spells on opponents? Every week the opponents, the posts, or any other element seems to go the way of the Chiefs.
This is a team that will go for a hat-trick by beating the Lions in the SuperBowl 5 to 3 on a safety, it's written here.
