We don't know if Jalen Green will finish the season at the Rockets or if he sees a medium-term future in Houston, but the young back does not seem perturbed by his contractual situation. That night again, in Philadelphia, the Rockets won away after overtime, and Green had his best game of the season with 41 points on 12 of 20 shots, 7 rebounds and 2 steals.
Clumsy for five matches (37% on shots), Green responded from the start with 18 points to 8 out of 8 on shots in the first quarter against the Sixers. He scored 14 of his team's first 16 points! But he assures that he did not try to send a message, even if his 13 out of 14 on free throws is a sign of greater aggressiveness towards the circle. “Really, I arrived just by being aggressive” he explains. “I didn't want to rely too much on 3-pointers, nor shoot too many 3-pointers. I let things come to me.”

His clumsy teammates, like Dillon Brooks (0 of 11 on shots!), Green took responsibility when necessary. Like in overtime after Guerschon Yabusele had given the Sixers a three-point lead.
“We tried to ensure that he goes a little more in the racket, that he attacks the circle, and that he is less dependent on outside shots” confirms Ime Udoka. “Some of these systems give it energy. But he was aggressive and made some of his first shots… As always, it’s good to see a few go in.”
When he scored 36 points against the Spurs, Green attempted 13 3-pointers, and this season, his volume of long-range shots increased to 15 in one game… Tonight, he only took 6 , and scores 4. Better shot selection and aggressiveness towards the rim are always the keys for a player of his type. “JG took the match into his own hands tonight, and he gave everything” concludes Alperen Sengun, the great man of extension. “He was hot, and that was important for us tonight. »
