The MVP of the night | OG Anunoby in Kevin Durant mode

After being annoyed that his attacking qualities were underestimated, OG Anunoby let go! In Utah, he broke his record for points in the colors of the Knicks with 27 points, but last night, he did much better: 40 points in the superb victory in Denver. This is his new career record!

Author of “moves” worthy of a Kevin Durant with dribbling starts, feints, then step-backs, OG Anunoby is not far from the perfect match with 16 out of 23 on shots, including 5 out of 7 from 3-point range. All with 5 rebounds and 4 assists, while giving a helping hand to Karl-Anthony Towns to defend on Nikola Jokic. Like this counter on the “Joker” where he recovers the ball to score on the counter-attack.

“Scoring 40 points is good, but winning is better… I’m improving from game to game. I'm sure I'll continue to improve.” assures the Knicks winger. “I'm just comfortable… You have to be ready to shoot and not turn away shots. And I’m more on the lookout.”

He transforms the Knicks offense

The biggest contract in the history of the Knicks with its $213 million pocketed this summer, OG Anunoby struck from the start with 4 of 4 shots, including 2/2 from 3-point range.

At the end of the first quarter, he was already at 12 points, and he took advantage of the caviars of Jalen Brunson (17 assists, personal best) and the spaces created by Karl-Anthony Towns (30 points, 15 rebounds). After hitting from afar, Anunoby continued on the counter-attack, and his dunks at the start of the 2nd half allowed the Knicks to lead by 26 points! Denver will not come back, and “OG OG” climbs from the stands of the Nuggets stadium!

Considered one of the best two-way players in the league, OG Anunoby seems to have reached a milestone in November. He's averaging 21.5 points in November, and the Knicks have one of the best offenses in the league.

“I want it to be decisive” Tom Thibodeau recently explained. “When he plays like that, the whole team is more efficient. When he cuts with purpose, when he catches the ball, and he's ready and balanced to take shots… He's found the right rhythm.”
