Bills – Chiefs (30-21): Josh Allen brings down the invincible Chiefs

Buffalo Bills (9-2) – Kansas City Chiefs (9-1): 30-21

Superb Josh Allen! While the Bills lead 23 to 21 with 2:17 left in the game, they are in a 4&2 situation.

Rather than taking the field goal and letting the Chiefs be able to come back and pass in front (as too often in the past…), McDermott entrusts the match ball to his best player: Josh Allen (27/40, 262 yards, 1TD, 1INT ; 12 carries, 55 yards, 1TD).

The quarterback then performs an incredible action by faking the pass then escaping from the pocket. Allen doesn't stop on first down but runs the missing 26 yards for the touchdown! Buffalo then leads 30 to 21 with 2 minutes remaining. Game-over for Kansas City.

The champions therefore leave Buffalo with their first defeat of the season. In a close match as is often the case between the two teams, we are salivating in advance for a potential revenge in the playoffs.

Kansa City stunned but resists

Complicated start to the match for the Chiefs. The visitors see Patrick Mahomes (23/33, 196 yards, 3TD, 2INT) being intercepted on his first pass of the match. Behind, the attack continues with a punt.

On the Bills side, we started off better with this interception from Tylor Rapp and the first touchdown of the match. Josh Allen multiplies the gains in the air and James Cook (9 races, 20 yards, 2TD) concludes on the ground (6-0, missed xp).

The Chiefs react in the second quarter by going ahead on a series which bears the seal of rookie Xavier Worthy (4 recs, 61 yards, 1TD). The rookie makes receptions of 31, 6, 14 then 10 yards to score the touchdown (6-7).

A short-lived advantage since Buffalo takes control with a nice series of 70 yards. Allen made the difference with 2 deep passes of 24 and 26 yards to Knox and Amari Cooper. In the end it was Cook again who scored on the ground (13-7).

The locals think they can increase the gap after a nice sequence which saw Von Miller sack Mahomes on 3rd and the punt returned beyond midfield. Except that on a 4&2, Josh Allen, under pressure, does not get along with Know and throws a pass intercepted by Chamari Conner.

A turnover fructified by Mahomes who finds some actions after Noah Gray in the end zone for the touchdown (13-14).

The Bills still finished the half well with a 3-minute drive allowing them to bring the clock down to 0 and add a field goal to reach the locker room in the lead (16-14). Buffalo is logically in front at the break but leaves the Chiefs in ambush.

Josh Allen sends the Chiefs to the ropes

In the 3rd quarter, the defenses reign on the field. Whether it is that of the Chiefs or that of the Bills, they prevent the slightest significant advance for the opponent.

If a few first downs are still granted, the public witnesses 4 punts in a row. 2 on each side, no jealousy!

It was at the start of the 4th quarter that the Bills finally managed to break the defensive barrier.

Once again, Allen racks up the yards in the air. This time Khalil Shakir (8 rec, 70 yards) is the most targeted. To conclude, the Bills quarterback connects with Curtis Samuel for the touchdown. The locals then lead 23 to 14 and are more than a touchdown apart from their opponents.

It was enough to sting the reigning champions. In 5 minutes, the visitors go back 70 yards in 10 actions. It's Noah Gray who is on reception to bring the Chiefs back to 2 points (23-21).

Except this time the Bills don't crack in the final moments. The team eats almost 6 minutes on the clock and Josh Allen performs the action of the match for the victory with this 26-yard touchdown (30-21).

The defense ends all suspense by intercepting Mahomes on his last pass of the game.

The race for first place in the AFC is completely relaunched!
