Again For Anthony Davisbut more fear than harm for the Lakers. Injured in the eye on Sunday evening following contact with Jakob Poeltl, he should finally be ready this evening to face Memphis.
“It's a few scratches in the eye” had indicated the interior during training. “But unless I am told that it is no longer possible, I am allowed to play”.
With his eye still red, Anthony Davis tried on protective glasses in training on Monday. A look that “suits him very well” according to his trainer JJ Redick, teasingly.
The All-Star interior, however, does not have the intention to wear them, he who cannot stand them. “I wore them for three years in high school. I just don't want to, to be honest. Of course, the doctors told me I didn't have to. But if it has to be, I'll wear them. But I'm allowed to play without it.”.
Author of a very good start to the season with 31 points, 10 rebounds and 2 blocks on average, Anthony Davis has established himself as the Lakers' number 1 option and a potential MVP. For their NBA Cup debut, the Lakers will clearly need him to face the unpredictable, but also provocative, Grizzlies.
