Domantas Sabonis, the warrior in the light

“Road trip” finally succeeded for the Kings, who won three out of four games away from their bases thanks to their ultimate success over Miami. A somewhat miraculous victory, because the Heat seemed to have the game in hand.

But a 3+1 from DeMar DeRozan just before the last minute, and an offensive rebound followed by a last-second game winner from Domantas Sabonis saved Sacramento. For De'Aaron Fox, this end of the match is excellent news for the rest of the season, the team having been solid in key moments.

“Our sense of urgency was at its peak” explains the playmaker. “Being able to come back into the match and equalize in that quarter was essential for us. »

“Domas will always be the warrior of our team. The one who takes the hits, the one who gets his face scratched, the one who gets stitches”

First “Clutch Player of The Year” in 2023, De'Aaron Fox could have given his team victory, but his shot did not go in. So it's his teammate Domantas Sabonis who did it, by recovering the offensive rebound in the middle of a forest of arms, then by triggering an ultra-fast “floater” to avoid Bam Adebayo’s counter.

“I was in the area, I was right there. And as soon as the shot went off, I knew he was in it.” explains Malik Monk, who came to celebrate this shot with his teammate, who found himself on his back.

“Domas will always be the warrior of our team”concludes the rear on the mentality of his comrade. “The one who takes the hits, the one who gets his face scratched, the one who gets stitches. But he is a deeply selfless player. He gives his all for us and for himself, that’s what he always does.”
