Baltimore Ravens (6-3) – Denver Broncos (5-4): 41-10
Without contest, Baltimore played its match. As long as the starters were on the field, the Ravens scored on all their series, except the first. And the final score reflects the complete performance that the Maryland men delivered against the Broncos. Lamar Jackson left the field with a perfect rating. Derrick Henry once again passed the 100 yard mark, giving himself a season with more than 1000 yards in week 9. Zay Flowers ripped through the air coverage in the first half to put the team on a strong footing. A boss-sized outing that places Baltimore – if necessary – a little more like one of the favorites of the season.
Opposite, Denver spent its evening being too short. The defense was powerless to find solutions to the Baltimore trio, the attack wanted to play a short and laborious score but missed all its fourth attempts and overall all its efforts. Result, the broncos lose the battle of clock, yards, turnovers and penalties. Impossible in this situation to oppose the purple mamouth.
The Ravens, quietly
From the start of the game, it is the defenses that show their advantage. Bo Nix (QB, 19/33, 223 yards, 1 INT) is intercepted on his first pass attempt, while Lamar Jackson (QB, 16/19, 280 yards, 3 TD) suffers a big sack which forces Baltimore to punt . We had to wait until the last minutes of the first quarter for the situation to unravel. Jackson distributes the leather to Nelson Agholor (WR, 29 yards) and Rashod Bateman (WR, 25 yards) before the inevitable Derrick Henry (RB, 133 yards, 2 TD) do not cross the line in force. Opposite Denver is skating and, persisting in missing conversions on fourth attempts, does not offer much response.
The Ravens open the second quarter with 3 more points, giving them a small margin. However, the Broncos are determined and do not want to be let down. Nix shows his mobility, distributes his passes well to Javonte Williams (RB, 84 yards), Courtland Sutton (WR, 122 yards) and Troy Franklin (WR, 19 yards) but to conclude he has to feint. On a short fourth attempt, Sutton improvised as a launcher and finds Nix on reception in the in-goalthe gap is reduced.
However, Baltimore still seems to have the game in hand. Jackson easily connects with Justice Hill (RB, 58 yards) before Zay Flowers (WR, 127 yards, 2 TD) adds his touchdown deep in the paint. Opposite, Denver took advantage of the last minutes of the half to grab the yards. Action after action, the Broncos progress slowly, enter the red zone, but shoot themselves in the foot with two consecutive penalties. They only return to the locker room with a field goal, a big missed opportunity. Especially since Baltimore does not stop there. There are 30 seconds left before the whistle, and Jackson turns on Flowers for a 53 yard breakaway and another touchdown. 24-10 at the break, the Ravens are playing quietly, no need to force it.
No need to even insist
Returning to the pitch, the Ravens insisted on marking their domination. Henry hammers on the ground, pounds on the run, and ends his journey in painting to give his team three scores in advance. A few minutes later he was imitated by Patrick Ricard (FB), and the match was now out of reach for the Colorado men.
Without forcing the slightest, Baltimore opened the last quarter with 3 additional points, and let the clock do its work. The attack having done its job, the defense played softly, even too much because it conceded a few penalties which really helped Denver. Despite everything, the squad did not give up and managed to deny the Colorado men their in-goal. At this point, Jackson and Henry are off the field, the game is already won. All Denver's efforts are only to save honor and reduce the score on the scoreboard. And once again, the Broncos attempt a fourth attempt in the red zone which fails by a few centimeters. There is nothing left to do, the timer runs out, and Baltimore wins a great victory, in style.
