Vikings: Operation and end of season for Christian Darrisaw

Hard blow for Sam Darnold and the Vikings. Minnesota's starting left tackle, Christian Darrisaw, will miss the end of the season. The player was released just before halftime during the loss against the Rams on Thursday.

According to Adam Shefter (ESPN), additional examinations carried out subsequently would have indicated the need for knee surgery for the 25-year-old player. The details of the injury are not known at this stage.

Excellent since the start of the season, Christian Darrisaw was a major piece of Kevin O'Connell's offensive system, both in pass protection and on the run.

As it stands, David Quessenberry should fill in at left tackle, as he did last night. The 34-year-old veteran is more used to playing at right tackle.
