The NBA corrects the score of the Warriors against the Blazers

A 139-104 away victory to open the season is already impressive. Except that it was not the exact score, the NBA having added a point to the Warriors, during their success on the Blazers field.

As after each match, the league studies all recorded statistics to verify that they are correct.

And during this first match between Golden State and Portland, the statisticians at the Moda Center fell asleep a little in the third quarter, while the Warriors had already took a 25 point lead…

Passing on the free throw line, De'Anthony Melton made the first, before missing the second. Except that his success was never recorded, and Golden State was therefore missing a point in the end.

In this case, given the gap between the two teams, there were no consequences, except for the history books since we can note that this is the fourth time that the Warriors have reached 140 points scored at the opening of their season, after 1962 (140), 1967 (144) and 1990 (162).

This is because oversights of this type are rare, with franchises employing several statisticians for each match.
