Los Angeles Rams (2-5) – Las Vegas Raiders (2-5): 20-15
In a match without rhythm and without talent, the Rams were able to take advantage of opposing errors to win. Gardner Minshew (15/34, 154 yards, 3 INT), who quickly replaced Aidan O'Connell due to injury, was despite himself the “hero” of this match, offering victory to the opponent.
The Rams defense must be highlighted, with a fiery Cobie Durant who managed an interception and a forced fumble to break the deadlock. The Californians suffocated the Nevada men from start to finish.
Matthew Stafford (14/23, 154 yards, 1 INT) did not have to force his talent, Kyren Williams (76 yards, 2 TD) did the job and the Rams save the honor even if the playoffs do not appear today an achievable goal. Seattle, once seen as a competitor, is in much better shape, for example.
This is not the Raiders' objective either, as the lack of talent seems glaring at all positions.
A drama in two acts
On the first eight drives of this game, the two teams combined for less than 200 yards and 3 points, a field goal from the Raiders. In a journey to the end of boredom, neither team wants to win this game.
It was then that Gardner Minshew began the offerings. First with a stupid interception for Cobie Durant, transformed into a touchdown by Kyren Williams. On the next drive, the quarterback let the ball escape, allowing Kamren Curl to score a defensive touchdown (14-3).
Although Las Vegas scores a field goal, the gap already seems too big.
The chalice to the dregs for Gardner Minshew
The second half resembles the first, in every way. Gardner Minshew throws an interception, and Kyren Williams takes the opportunity to score the touchdown. Minute after minute, the Raiders are shooting themselves in the foot. The Rams aren't winning this game, they're just making sure they don't lose it (20-6).
The Raiders, however, have opportunities to come back. But systematically, the panic attack in the red zone. Result? Field goal, field goal, field goal (20-15). Enough to make the defeat more honorable, but not more. As a symbol, the last drive ends with an interception by Gardner Minshew. A match to forget for him from start to finish.
