Change of quarterback at Tennessee. Mason Rudolph will start this Sunday against the Bills. A change imposed by a shoulder injury for the usual starter Will Levis.
According to Adam Shefter (ESPN), Will Levis suffers from a grade 2 acromioclavicular sprain. This severity of injury should not force him to undergo surgery, but could sideline him for several weeks.
Levis suffered the injury while diving for a first down against the Dolphins 3 weeks ago. After a week of rest (Bye Week), he then played last week against the Colts without much success, as evidenced by his statistics sheet (16/27, 93 yards, 1 TD, 1 interception).
Far from being sparkling this season, Will Levis (140 yards per game, 5 touchdowns, 7 interceptions, 3 fumbles) therefore gives way to Mason Rudolph (29 years old). The ex-Steeler has an honorable record of 8 victories, 4 defeats and 1 draw in his career, certainly carried by a great Pittsburgh defense.
Rudolph's main feat of arms remains of course this fight against the Browns in 2019, and the helmet hit received from Myles Garrett. The latter was suspended until the end of this 2019 season.
