Mission accomplished for Scotty Pippen Jr. in Tennessee: until now holder of a “two-way contract”, we learn from ESPN that he actually landed a standard contract for several years at Memphis. One week before the restart, it's a nice gift for the player, represented by Rich Paul (Klutch Sports).
At almost 24 years old, the son of the illustrious Scottie Pippen obtains his first real NBA contract, two years after his anonymous debut with the Lakers. This rewards his great performances with the Grizzlies at the end of the regular season (12.9 points, 4.7 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.7 interceptions), in Summer League (21.5 points, 8.7 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 3.3 interceptions) then in preseason (10.3 points, 4.5 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 1.0 interceptions) ).
Leader, Scotty Pippen Jr. will therefore be responsible for helping Ja Morant and Marcus Smart, like Tyus Jones before him at position 1 in Memphis, while one was missing in the rotation following the retirement of Derrick Pink.
This leaves the franchise with the possibility of recruiting a new “two-way contract” to replace the former Vanderbilt resident, while the Grizzlies still have a “normal” place free in their squad.
