Green Bay Packers (3-3) – Arizona Cardinals (2-4): 34-13
Jordan Love (22/32, 258 yards, 4 touchdowns, 1 interception) has found a cruising speed which allows the Packers to remain competitive. The quarterback made many important plays. Green Bay also relied on an aggressive defense capable of recovering the ball three times to put the team in the best conditions.
The inclement weather did not dampen the enthusiasm of the locals. Visitors, accustomed to drier heat, were on the contrary caught by lightning. The only bright spots: Kyler Murray (22/32, 214 yards, 1 touchdown) and Trey McBride (8 receptions, 96 yards).
Everything slides for Jordan Love
The first half is one way for cheeseheads. Too easy even. It only takes one series of runs for Jordan Love to then score on the next 4. Matt Lafleur (HC) also adapted instantly to a defense that plays very deep, while the match takes place under downpours of rain. The calls are then for Josh Jacobs (18 races, 62 yards) who slides between the opposing defenders. And for receivers in short zones. Jayden Reed (WR) ends a long series with a touchdown in the middle of the first quarter (7-0).
Rebelote from the start of the second quarter, in the same way. This time it's Romeo Doubs (3 receptions, 49 yards, 2 touchdowns) who finds the promised land by breaking one last tackle, and forgetting a complicated week (14-0). Green Bay added three points following (17-0). And it only takes one play of 44 yards on a sublime long pass from Jordan Love to Christian Watson, forgotten, to increase a score which already seems to be done (24-0).
And Arizona in all this? The desert franchise offers football mismanagement. Indiscipline, missed tackles, loose passes, injuries and above all coaches who seem totally overwhelmed are on the program. Spectators see the beginnings of redemption at the end of the first half, as often through James Conner who shows the way. Michael Wilson (WR) ends up in the goal after a complex reception. The Cardinals take off (24-7). They don't stop there. Jordan Love throws an interception to Sean Murphy-Bunting just before the break. The Cardinals are satisfied with three additional points (24-10).
Christmas before time
The Green Bay Packers do not have to force their talent to master a weak opposing team. In the 3e quarter-time, the Wisconsin men recovered two fumbles, escaped by Conner and Greg Dortch (WR), while the Cardinals attack was in good shape. From these opportunities, Green Bay gains nothing, except precious time.
Jordan Love has his back in any case. Once again fueled by two unnecessary fouls from Sean Murphy Bunting (CB), the quarterback throws towards the completely lost cornerback to find Romeo Doubs, easily, touchdown. At the end of the third quarter the score was 31-13.
What followed was a public stoning for the Cardinals. Green Bay manages. Arizona does not digest the blows and loses 4 starters in its defense to injury and Marvin Harrison Jr. to a concussion, contracted in the first half. Green Bay added three points (34-13) before the end of the match, anecdotally.
Highlight of the show with a 3e fumble on a misunderstanding of rookie Trey Benson (RB) and his quarterback. Green Bay obtains a convincing victory and ties with Chicago in a very tough division where every game counts.
