Bigger, stronger and more comfortable, Bilal Coulibaly knows what he has to do

At 20, we continue to grow, and in one year, Bilal Coulibaly took a few centimeters to be measured at 2m02 (without shoes) during the recovery. Weight-wise, it weighs 93 kilos, which is four kilos more than last April. And it's not the weight of his silver medal won with France at the Olympic Games. Another notable change is his aggressiveness in attack, and his improvements on dribbling.

Author of 4 out of 6 shots against the Raptors, Coulibaly confirms that he has worked a lot on his dribbling, and more particularly his left hand. And initially, it was out of necessity since his right wrist was in a cast. “You have no idea how much I worked on my left hand. It's crazy! I can also shoot with my left hand now, because I worked my left hand so much. I spent six weeks straight shooting with my left hand, dribbling, passing, all that…”

Better identify these strengths

While his coach Brian Keefe has already warned him that he will take care of the opponent's best exterior every evening, Coulibaly also wants to weigh in on attack. Until now, he was the 3rd or 4th option in attack, but he wants more responsibility, and he feels confident.

“I have the feeling of knowing what will happen on the pitch,” he admits. “Last year I sometimes felt uncomfortable on the pitch and didn't really know what I was doing. But now I know what I have to do, what the coach really wants me to do. So I know where my strengths are. I know where I'm going to get the ball. It's much easier for me. »
