Buffalo Bills (3-0) – Jacksonville Jaguars (0-3): 47-10
The game lasted only one half in Buffalo. The Bills scored a touchdown on each of their first five possessions, with Josh Allen (23/30, 263 yards, 4 TDs) dominating the game and distributing the ball to 10 different targets.
Buoyed by a crowd that chanted “MVP! MVP!” in his honor, Allen delivered a real demonstration. He also received support from James Cook, who was present both on the ground (11 carries, 39 yards, 1 TD) and in the air (4 rec, 48 yards).
The contrast with the Jaguars who never stop disappointing is terrible, like Trevor Lawrence (21/38, 178 yards, 1 TD, 1 int) who is still far from the announced savior, and light years away from Allen.
Bills wrap up in 30 minutes
Ten plays, 70 yards, James Cook's rushing touchdown. The Bills started the game perfectly. They continued it just as perfectly, stopping the opposing attack in three plays. Then scoring another touchdown by Dalton Kincaid (3 rec, 41 yards, 1 TD).
The touchdowns came thick and fast in the first half, as did their authors: Keon Coleman, Khalil Shakir and Ty Johnson. Too easy.
Josh Allen's stats from the first half alone are superb: 22/28, 247 yards, 4 touchdowns. Move along, nothing to see here. The last quarter is for the substitutes.
Jaguars in agony
Trevor Lawrence's chance to show he can keep up? Quite the opposite. On paper, the Jacksonville quarterback has almost a better group of targets, with Christian Kirk, Gabe Davis and especially rookie Brian Thomas. But it's while looking for the latter on an overdosed pass that Lawrence sends the ball into the hands of Damar Hamlin, who signs the first interception of his career.
The Jaguars' defense has nothing better to offer. They don't have a single sack on Monday night. And that makes 8 straight losses for Doug Peterson's team going back to last season. Division title hopes are further away than ever.
