Caitlin Clark becomes the best passer in a season!

Two days after A'Ja Wilson broke the single-season scoring record, it's now Caitlin Clark to re-enter the history books with the WNBA single-season assists record. While still a rookie, the Fever's star guard eclipsed Alyssa Thomas' 316 assists in 2023 with nine assists in the loss to the Aces, bringing her total to 321. During the season, Caitlin Clark had already set the single-game assists record.

In addition to Wilson and Clark, it should be remembered that Angel Reese broke the single-season rebounding record (446). In addition, Angel Reese and A'ja Wilson are on track to break the records for best rebounding and points averages in a season, with 13.1 rebounds/m and 27.0 points/m respectively. On the other hand, Cailtin Clark's 8.4 assists per game are far from the 10 assists averaged by Courtney Vandersloot in 2020.

The joy of participating in a historic season

“It really illustrates how historic the whole season is and how great the basketball has been, and we're not even in the playoffs yet.”, reacted Caitlin Clark. “The best part is that we’re going to continue to see records break, but we’re also going to see some really good basketball, and that’s why it’s so fun to watch. That’s why the fans come to the theaters. The ratings have absolutely exploded this year. Everyone is stepping up their game. The competition is getting stronger and stronger, and it’s fun, as a competitor, to know that you have to give your best, because the person on the other side of the court is going to give their best. It’s fun to see everyone step up their game, and being a part of that is really fun for me, too.”

On the Aces side, A'ja Wilson recorded an 11th straight game with at least 15 points and 15 rebounds, as she compiled 15 points and 17 rebounds in the final victory (78-74) of Las Vegas. Here she is at 971 points on the season, 29 points from the mythical mark of 1,000 points and there are three games left to play.
