Svetislav Pesic confirms he is leaving his post as Serbia coach

Svetislav Pesic had announced before the Paris Olympics that he would leave his position as Serbia coach after the competition. An announcement that he had however tempered after the bronze medal…

However, at 75 years old, the technician confirms today that he will indeed give up his place.

“The president of the federation, Pedrag Danilovic, has resigned. From what I understand, he did it to allow the new management to form a staff and define objectives for the next Olympic cycle.” explains the coachwho led Serbia to the silver medal at the 2023 World Cup.

Who will be the next president, as Pedrag Danilovic steps down on October 1?

It should be played between the leaders of the two big Belgrade clubsRed Star and Partizan. But apparently it doesn't matter to Svetislav Pesic, who has decided to move on.

“I had already made it known before Paris that someone else should continue the work I had started” he concludes. “As I see that some people have not understood well, I now repeat clearly that the federation officials must also look for a new coach. Of course, I will always be at the disposal of Serbian basketball, but I will now focus on other goals and projects.”
