Packers: Jordan Love avoids the worst with his knee

Hit in the final seconds of the match against the Eagles, raising fears of the worst for his season, Jordan Love should have ultimately avoided the worst. According to ESPN, the first tests carried out on his return from Brazil revealed a sprained medial collateral ligament and therefore ruled out a torn cruciate ligament.

The quarterback's absence should therefore be counted in weeks rather than months. According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Media, sources would speak of an initial timetable for a return between 3 to 6 weeks. Excellent news for the Packers' season. Almost unexpected. The live images of the injury had plunged the fans of the green and gold into great dismay and suggested a much darker scenario.

Will the Packers survive Jordan Love's injury?

Extended during the summer for a record amount, Love now carries the hopes and ambitions of his franchise and has positioned himself as a worthy successor to Aaron Rodgers. During this inaugural defeat against Philly, Love completed 17 passes out of 34 for 260 yards, for 2 touchdowns and an interception.

But who will hold down the fort during Jordan Love's injury? Malik Willis, who arrived in late August in a trade, should take over the interim. The two snaps he took Saturday night were not reassuring: an incomplete pass and a sack.

Drafted in the third round by the Titans in 2022, Willis has since disappointed, with only 35 completions of 67 attempts in a dozen games, including only three as a starter. Above all, he still has not thrown a single touchdown pass in an official game, against 3 interceptions.
