A week ago, the Grizzlies announced the injury of GG Jacksonwho fractured his right foot while training in Dallas.
“While playing basketball outside of Dallas on August 27, after attempting a contested layup, GG Jackson landed poorly on his right foot. An MRI revealed a fracture of the fifth metatarsal in his right foot that requires surgery.”we could read in a press release.
The “fifth metatarsal fracture”, also known as the “Jones fracture”, has already affected several players such as Kevin Durant, Brook Lopez, CJ McCollum and Jaren Jackson Jr.
This Wednesday, the 19-year-old winger went under the knife and Memphis franchise announces in the wake that he will be examined again in three months. That is to say at the beginning of December. He will therefore miss the first weeks of the regular season.
After a season completely weighed down by injuries to Ja Morant, Marcus Smart and Brandon Clarke, the Grizzlies will therefore have to start the next season without the rookie elected to the Second All-Rookie Team in 2023/24, after averaging 14.6 points.
