Jrue Holiday: 'As a Lakers fan, I had a little trouble putting on this green jersey'

This summer, Jrue Holiday became the second player in history, after Scottie Pippen, to win two NBA titles and two Olympic titles in the same year! With his 56% shooting, including 50% from 3-point range, the Celtics point guard played fair with Team USA, and he always struck in the important moments. His greatest joy was to have won with two teammates, Derrick White and Jayson Tatum. A Tatum put in difficulty by Steve Kerr's coaching.

“Playing with them is a lot of fun,” Holiday recalls. CLNS Media. “We did it in season and we won together, but I think going out there and representing our country together was really cool. I think everybody here knows JT, he’s the ultimate professional. He already knows what the ultimate goal is. I don’t think he needed any encouragement. I think it was more about staying ready every time the time came to be called.”

Getting used to the green jersey…

Two-time NBA champion and therefore two-time Olympic champion, Holiday probably didn't imagine that this season would be so glorious since he was traded to the Blazers for Damian Lillard. But the Celtics went to get him from Portland, and we know the rest…

“To be honest, the two titles are different,” Holiday continues. “But I’m from Los Angeles and I grew up a Lakers fan, so the first day, it was a little hard to put on the green jersey. Then, once I got used to the green, we won the championship. Once I got acclimated to the city and the fans, it was crazy! I feel like I keep saying it, but there’s no word to describe the feeling you get after winning that title. It was just a blast, and right from the beginning, the way I ended up here. Everything about it is insane, from the way the city welcomed me to the fact that I’ve accomplished so much in such a short period of time.”
