Dalvin Cook signs with the Dallas Cowboys

Dalvin Cook (HB) has finally found a team. According to NFL Network's Tom Pelisserothe 29-year-old runner and the Dallas Cowboys have just reached an agreement.

Cook, 29, was one of the NFL's most prolific rushers a few years ago. He had four consecutive seasons with over 1,000 yards and was selected to as many Pro Bowls, from 2019 to 2022, when he played with the Vikings. During his 6 years with the Minnesota franchise, Cook accumulated over 6,000 yards rushing and 1,800 receiving, while scoring 54 touchdowns.

Dallas, the right recipe for Cook?

Away from Minnesota since last season, the runner's production has drastically dropped. First with the Jets where he gained only 214 yards on 67 carries, then with the Ravens by gaining only 23 yards on eight carries during a playoff game. He has not scored a single touchdown in recent months.

When the season restarts, Dalvin Cook is expected to join the team's practice squad. The Cowboys thus reserve the right to activate him at any time, and Cook could thus participate in the first game of the season, on September 8 against the Cleveland Browns. In Texas, he joins a backfield where Ezekiel Elliott seems to be in pole position. He will have to face Rico Dowdle and Deuce Vaughn for the backup role.
