Victim of a serious knee injury in the second week of the 2023 season, Nick Chubb will not be ready for the return.
According to ESPN, the Browns running back will be placed on injured reserve (PUP) for the start of the 2024 campaign. This means that he will not be eligible to play in the first four games. Cleveland will face the Cowboys, Jaguars, Giants and Raiders.
Chubb has therefore not yet recovered, and his coaches and managers are careful not to give a precise time frame for his return.
Nick Chubb had to have two operations
Nick Chubb is trying to come back from a very serious injury. A first operation was performed to repair his meniscus, his medial collateral ligament and his medial meniscus. A second procedure was then necessary for his anterior cruciate ligament.
He had already seriously injured this same left knee during his university studies.
A four-time Pro Bowler, Chubb has posted four consecutive seasons with over 1,000 yards. In 2022, he had gone crazy with 1,525 yards!
In his absence, the Browns still posted the NFL's 12th-ranked rushing attack last season. Jerome Ford should still be used behind their solid offensive line to start the year.
