Olympic revelation Carlik Jones confirms contacts with the NBA

Ephemeral NBA player between 2021 and 2023, Carlik Jones will continue his career at Partizan Belgrade, with Frank Ntilikina. However, with his successful Olympic tournament, under the colors of South Sudan, with 18 points, 7.7 assists and 5 rebounds on average, he could perhaps have returned to the Major League.

This is not just a guess since the player himself confirms that he has had contacts with NBA franchises.

“There have been offers from the NBA, but not as many as have been reported,” does he temper. “Many people were concerned about it, but you shouldn't believe everything that is written. It's true that I received offers, but I knew from the beginning that Partizan was the ideal club for me. It seemed like the best decision.”

It should also be noted that if he wanted to fly to the NBA, Carlik Jones had to do so before July 25, before the start of the Olympic tournament. But clearly, his future was to be in Serbia and not elsewhere.

“They told me they respected my game”he says before returning to the discussions with coach Zeljko Obradovic. “We had two conversations. He told me to be myself, to be a real playmaker, a leader. To lead the team, on both ends of the floor, to make my teammates better. Nothing more, nothing less. He assured me that he was not going to change anything in my game, that I was going to be myself.”
