Jaylen Brown: “Now we have a target on our backs”

Finals MVP and NBA champion, Jaylen Brown will not lack motivation for the upcoming season. First, there is this revenge against the American Federation which preferred Derrick White to him when replacing Kawhi Leonard for the Olympic Games. And then, of course, there is this title defense. Since the Warriors in 2018, no team has achieved the double, and since 2019, the NBA has had six different champions.

“Now we have a target on our backs” he recognizes. “Everybody's going to try to pick on us. And I'm kind of like, 'OK, let's go.' So we get back to work and I'm looking forward to next season.”

Two months after the Celtics' victory, and six weeks before training resumes, Brown assures that the title has been digested and now put aside. “Honestly, last season is over. We celebrated, and we had a great time. It was an incredible summer, and I’m having a great summer, but it’s over now, and it’s time to get back to work.”
