Vasilije Micic in the Nuggets' sights?

As seen at the Paris Olympics, Nikola Jokic is never happier than when he's playing for the national team with friends, and the Nuggets could make him happy by going after Vasilije Micic. The former Euroleague MVP has completely relaunched himself at the Hornets with nearly 11 points and 6 assists on average in 30 games, including 21 as a starter. Enough to forget his failed NBA debut with the Thunder.

Something that will also catch the eye of the Nuggets who are looking to relieve Jamal Murray. We know that they have already recruited Russell Westbrook but the former Thunder and Rockets point guard is first and foremost a free electron. With Micic, they would bring creativity, and could even use Murray as a 2nd guard.

The problem, remember Marc Steinis that Micic is under contract with the Hornets and his salary ($7.7 million) complicates any transaction. Especially since the Nuggets have reached the “first apron” notch at the salary cap level. Which means that to get him back, they will have to part with a player who earns an equivalent or higher salary.
