Dwyane Wade Positioned as NBC's Future NBA Commentary Star

Dwyane Wade said: his experience at the microphone of the Olympic Games for NBC was very positive: ” I'm having fun.” Consultant for the American channel alongside Noah Eagle, the former Miami player, who had already been a consultant for TNT, experienced an important moment.

“When I was asked to do this, I saw it as probably one of the biggest challenges of my 2024”, precise the three-time NBA champion. “I decided to go into it knowing that I was going to learn on the job. I was going to be sitting next to Noah and it was clear that I was going to ask him questions about this world, which I didn’t know. I’m not afraid to ask.”

Comment without looking for buzz

Not a journalist, nor really an “analyst”, Dwyane Wade wants above all to be a former player who gives his opinion. “The most important thing was to be myself,” he assures. “Everyone told me that and that's what I told myself too. I was going to bring my perspective to basketball, knowing that, like in life, some will like it and others won't.”

What's interesting about this summer and Olympic experience for the 2008 gold medalist in Beijing is that NBC will return to the NBA world, becoming a broadcaster with Amazon and ESPN/ABC. Thus, “D-Wade” could become an option for games to be commentated starting in the 2025/26 season.

He himself, again, said it recently, thinking that this role on television “could be a future if all goes as planned.” This is confirmed by the president of NBC Sports. “We will talk in the fall about talents for the pre-matches, for the consultant position. We will need several people because we will have meetings three evenings a week.”explains Rick Cordella.
