Kyle Filipowski to Jazz for 4 years

Big loser of the last Draft, Kyle Filipowski will still have managed to land a contract $12 million over 4 years with the Utah Jazz. Expected in the last part of the first round, Filipowski had to wait until the next day before hearing his name called, in 32nd position.

In particular, the complicated family relationship between his parents and his girlfriend has put off some franchise executives. However, it's a family story that doesn't seem to scare Danny Ainge, who jumped at the chance to get the former Duke center back at the start of the second round. This four-year contract, typical for a player selected in the second round, consists of two guaranteed years, a non-guaranteed third season, and a ” team option ” on the last one.

This summer, Kyle Filipowski played 8 summer league games, including 5 as a starter. The time to accumulate 11 points, 6 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1 interception on average in 22 minutes of play.

The Blue Devil even signed a double-double against the Pistons with 26 points on 8/22 shooting (3/11 from afar) and 11 rebounds in the last Summer League game in Las Vegas.

“Flip” will complete Will Hardy's interior rotation and gain some playing time behind John Collins, Lauri Markkanen and Walker Kessler.

Team option : possibility for a team to activate (or not) the last year of the contract of one of its players, so that he finishes his lease or becomes free agent one year in advance.
