Haason Reddick wants new contract
Haason Reddick (Edge, Jets) may never play a game for his new franchise. Traded to the Eagles on March 29 for a conditional 2026 third-round draft pick, Reddick has requested to be traded again, according to ESPN and NFL media on Monday.
The player did not show up for any of the Jets' training camps this offseason, and the franchise placed him on the reserve list.
The edge rusher is looking for a new contract or a raise on his current deal, which was set to pay him $14.25 million in base salary. While the best at his position currently earn about double that average annual salary.
Haason Reddick has already lost a $250,000 workout bonus for missing voluntary camps and more than $100,000 in fines for missing mandatory minicamp.
The Jets' response was swift.
General manager Joe Douglas responded quickly in a statement from the franchise, on X. The Jets informed the player that a trade was not an option. They want Haason Reddick on the team and their position has not changed since March.
