Chiefs: Harrison Butker breaks the bank

Kansas City kicker becomes highest-paid kicker in NFL.

Kansas City rewards its key players. NFL Media reports that the Chiefs have reached an agreement with Harrison Butker for a four-year contract extension, worth $25.6 million. The kicker thus becomes – at 29 years old – the highest-paid kicker in the NFL, and is assured a guaranteed minimum salary of $17.75 million. A deal that he negotiated himself, without a representative.

In 2024, he will enter the final year of a five-year contract he signed in 2019, for $20.3 million, so he is under contract with the Chiefs until 2028.

Selected in the 7th round of the 2018 draft by the Panthers, Butker quickly found his place in the Missouri roster. He is coming off a 2023 season with 94.3% accuracy (33/35 on field goals, 38/38 in extra points).
