While the 3×3 Blues finished last in the standings and will therefore not win a medal, the Blues achieved a feat at the Trocadéro, by overturning Serbia during their play-in match!
Winners 22-19, they thus go to the semi-final, where they will face the Latviastill undefeated (7-0).
To bring down Serbia, six times world champion in the discipline and third at the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2021, France was able to count on an enormous Jules Rambaut (8 points).
“It's the match of a lifetime and tomorrow I hope we'll have the other match of our lives” explained Lucas Dussoulier after Timothé Vergiat's winning shot. “It was incredible, we played an almost perfect match.”
