“I've been waiting for this for a long time. I want to dunk on someone's head but I haven't had the opportunity yet. I'm happy I got that dunk. I hope to catch someone in the next three games.” Still as ambitious, Anthony Edwards achieved one of the best dunks of the Olympic Games against Puerto Rico, with an aerial “windmill” on the counterattack.
The cherry on the cake of this first round that he finished with 16.7 points on average. Before the competition, the Wolves guard estimated to be “always the first option” of Team USA, which could seem pretentious in such an armada. But three matches later, he is indeed the best scorer of his team!

He dominates but continues to learn
The young player is doing wonders off the bench and is living a dream alongside Kevin Durant. As we know, it was the presence of the Phoenix All-Star in the group that ensured his arrival in Lille and Paris.
“I've always dreamed of all this. It's clear. Durant and LeBron James are the two ultimate team players, they always want the player next to them to shine. I'm the same, it's perfect,” comments Anthony Edwards.
“It's a great experience for him,” adds Steve Kerr. “He loves Durant, who is his idol. He learns from him. We are trying to make him take a step forward. He is very young, the talent is immense and if he continues to learn to use it, to be effective, then he will become unstoppable.”
Already very attractive at the 2023 World Cup, the Minnesota star confirms his new status, at a much higher level. “It's definitely more fun this year.”he confirms. “I play with the best players in history. The experience is better because I can go and watch table tennis.”
