The first player ratings of the popular football game are out. Christian McCaffrey gets the maximum rating.
Madden continues to reveal the ratings of the players present in the game day after day. Lovers of the air game were delighted with the receivers. It is the turn of the fans of the ground game to know their superstars.
Christian McCaffrey more than a face
“CMC” had the honor of becoming the face of the video game franchise for its 2024 edition. But that's not all because the developers decided to also give him the maximum general score of 99. This is the second known in the edition, after Tyreek Hill.
McCaffrey is even achieving a small feat. You have to go back 14 years to Madden 09 to find a running back with a perfect score thanks to LaDainian Tomlinson. CMC fully deserves this honor after his remarkable performances on the field. In 2023, the 49ers' offensive weapon was voted Offensive Player of the Year, surpassed 2,000 total yards in offense and was a major contributor to his franchise's Superbowl appearance.
Density (but a lower overall level)
While McCaffrey tops the running backs list, the overall level has dropped slightly from last year's. A 0.3-point average drop from the top 10 seems insignificant but could reflect the league's penchant for passing.
However, Nick Chubb (injured in 2023) and Derrick Henry are still there. Young players to emerge are Travis Etienne Jr., Kenneth Walker III and Isaiah Pacheco.
