Serge Ibaka to Real Madrid, it's official

It was the logical and expected continuation. After thanking Bayern Munich with whom he won the German Cup and the Bundesliga, Serge Ibaka has officially become a new Real Madrid player.

The Madrid club announced the news, notably through a video in which the former NBA champion (34 years old), recruited via a one-year contract, explained the reasons for his choice, namely returning to a club he already knows, and within which he will have the assurance of playing to win (everything).

“I am very happy and above all I feel very grateful to be able to come back here to Madrid. For me it is like coming home. It is a club that I know well, so it was easy to make this decision. I am looking forward to playing there again, wearing this shirt again, and being here with the others.”he said in particular.

Spanish international, Olympic vice-champion and European champion with La Roja, who played for Manresa before joining the NBA in 2009, Serge Ibaka wore the Real Madrid jersey during his career, in 2011, during the NBA lockout, playing six matches before heading back across the Atlantic.

His return to Madrid was also accompanied by another piece of good news, since the day before, Real had announced the extension of Madrid legend Sergio Llull's contract for one more season.
