The Summer League offered a total suspense for its final between the Heat and the Grizzlies, the two teams undefeated until now. After a match finished at 113 all, the two teams go into overtime.
However, we don't play five more minutes, but until a certain score: 120 in this case. So it's the first team to score seven points in this overtime that will win. Josh Christopher scores a 3-pointer to give the Heat the lead, before Jake LaRavia equalizes at 118 all.
The next team to score will be the champion. Pelle Larsson tries to get past Scotty Pippen Jr., he tries his luck and the ball falls in.
“Dan Bisaccio designed this system that we did several times in training”, explains Pelle Larsson.
Miami won 120-118. Josh Christopher, with his 24 points, was elected MVP of this final, while his teammates Kel'el Ware (21 points, 10 rebounds), Alondes Williams (21) and Cole Swider (19) shone. Opposite, Jake LaRavia scored 32 points and Scotty Pippen Jr., still efficient, compiled 29 points and 11 assists.
