After a year out, Damion Lee is getting closer to a return

After a blank season due to a right knee meniscus injury sustained during training in October 2023, Damion Lee is expected to make his big return to the Suns by training camp. ” I feel good “, Stephen Curry's brother-in-law says. “I tell everyone that's goal number one. Mentally, I feel better, and physically, I'm in a better place.”

Extended for a season earlier in the month, Damion Lee ultimately only played one season in Arizona, in 2022/23. The former Warriors guard had participated in 74 games with the Suns, including five as a starter, accumulating 8.2 points at 44.5% from afar. To gain minutes after a year of absence, in a deeply reworked squad, the ideal is obviously to participate in training camp and create synergy with the rest of the squad. This is what the replacement shooter is aiming for.

“I’m at about 85%,” Damion Lee now believes. “And I'm going to move on to contact, scrimmages, all that kind of stuff. I'm on track, and I should get the green light for training camp, so that's something I'm really excited about.”

To earn a spot in Phoenix's rotation behind Bradley Beal and Devin Booker, Damion Lee will be able to count on his outside shooting and the departure of Eric Gordon to the Sixers.
