With 16 French players on site, there are bound to be some French-French clashes in Las Vegas, and after the duel between Zaccharie Risacher and Alexandre Sarr, the calendar offered another clash between French players selected in the first round of the Draft: Tidjane Salaün and Pacôme Dadiet. Unfortunately, they didn't particularly shine in the Hornets' victory over the Knicks (94-90).
Starting, Dadiet finished with 5 points and 5 rebounds at 2 of 8 shooting, while Salaün, a substitute for his big debut, accumulated 8 points and 7 rebounds in 14 minutes, at 3 of 7 shooting. The two Frenchmen were active, especially in defense. They showed energy, through their runs and their activity on the rebound.
Led by Nick Smith Jr (24 points) and Brandon Miller (23 points), the Hornets had gotten off to a flying start to lead 23-12 after twelve minutes, thanks to a 7-0 run to start the game, then a 9-0 run. Thanks to Duane Washington Jr, the Knicks will gradually chip away at their deficit, without really worrying the Hornets, still undefeated in the summer league (3v-0d).
