Hawks – Wizards. In the regular season, it was one of the least interesting games this year, but tonight, in the summer league, it was the opportunity to see, face to face, the first two choices of the Draft: Zaccharie Risacher Atlanta side, and Alexander Sarr Washington side. Two Frenchmen to boot, and both did not disappoint. Author of 18 points on 7 out of 16 shooting, Risacher missed his first fadeaway, but then he was the winger we know, both a space-eater and capable of punishing from afar.
His false nonchalance trapped the Wizards' defense several times, even if in the end, the Hawks lost 94-88 with a very long and poorly managed end to the match.
On the Washington side, Alexandre Sarr seemed lost in attack, even though he scored 12 points. He shot 4 out of 12 on shots, but compiled 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks. Unsurprisingly, it was in defense that the Frenchman made the difference, and as the game went on, the Hawks changed their way of attacking. If Sarr had to be compared to an NBA player, it would be Jaren Jackson Jr. A center who prefers to spread out with an interesting outside shot, while being an intimidator on the other side of the court. His dribbling is interesting when he speaks from afar, and he signed a beautiful fadeaway in the middle of the racket. Rather impressive for a 2m16 player.
Alongside him, “Bub” Carrington nearly had a triple-double with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists at 50% shooting. The 14th pick in the Draft is a real playmaker, and his shot is quality. A real discovery.
