The Sixers continue to move forward in building their roster for next season. After securing a third superstar with Paul George to form a “Big Three” worthy of the name, it's time for adjustments. These included the arrivals of Eric Gordon, Andre Drummond and Caleb Martin, as well as the extension of Kelly Oubre.
Thursday, it's the turn of Kyle Lowry to re-enlist. The story between the point guard and the Sixers is unique, as the player has often spoken of his love for the city he is from, eventually realizing his dream of playing at the Wells Fargo Center last February. While the story of this 2023-2024 season did not end as he had hoped with an elimination in the first round of the playoffs, Kyle Lowry will still have the opportunity to continue the adventure with Philly. Through a video on his Instagram accountthe leader has indeed made the news of his extension official.
It will be a one-year contract for the minimum salary, or $3.3 million. At 38, he will be Tyrese Maxey's backup, and his complicity with his coach, Nick Nurse, remains a plus for the entire group.
