Canada formalizes its group for the Paris Olympic Games

Just before facing Team USA to kick off his preparation tonight, the Canada unveiled the twelve players who will play the Olympic Games in France this summer, after having pre-selected twenty three weeks ago.

Coach Jordi Fernandez was spoiled for choice and, even though Andrew Wiggins, Zach Edey and Oshae Brissett are now gone, there are some very good names on this list. Thus, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jamal Murray And RJ Barrett will be the leaders of this group, with Luguentz Dort, Dillon Brooks And Kelly Olynyk as principal lieutenants.

Without forgetting Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Dwight Powell, Andrew Nembhard And Trey Lyles like other “NBAers”, in addition to Khem Birch And Melvin Ejim who both play in Spain.

Third in the last World Cup, Canada has therefore brought out the big guns to do as well, if not better, at the 2014 Olympics. Paris 2024. But before possibly meeting Team USA in the last four, the Canadians will first have to get out of the “group of death” against Australia, Spain and Greece…
