Los Angeles Sparks tied to Crypto.com Arena through 2029

If the Los Angeles Clippers are moving from Crypto.com Arena (the former Staples Center) to their own arena, the Intuit Dome, next season, the Los Angeles Sparks will stay there for their part.

The WNBA franchise has just extended its lease with the downtown Los Angeles venue until 2029.

As announced by the owner of the arena, AEG, the Sparks will continue to share it with the Lakers (NBA) and the Kings (NHL), as they have done since 2001. Among the eight original teams of the WNBA, in 1997, the Los Angeles Sparks first played at the Inglewood Forum, the former arena of the Lakers.

“We made a lot of memories in this room, and I look forward to more great moments in the future.”, Eric Holoman explained:the team's president and executive director.

It was at the Staples Center, which became the Crypto.com Arena, that the Los Angeles Sparks won their three titles (2001, 2002 and 2016), in the wake of Lisa Leslie and then Candace Parker.

A glorious past that the team is seeking to rediscover, while it is currently in the depths of the standings (5 wins – 17 losses) after its new setback last night against the Minnesota Lynx.
