Kevin Love Returns to Miami

No real surprise that this announcement of The Athleticwhich confirms that ofESPN : after having crossed out his “player option” of 4 million dollars for next season, in order to test the market, Kevin Love indeed returns to Heatthe only team to actually get his favor.

For 8 million dollars over two years, the 2016 champion therefore extends to Miamiwhere he feels particularly good at this stage of his career (he will celebrate his 36th birthday this fall). He arrived in Florida in February 2023, from Cleveland, before re-signing the following summer for two years. Thus leaving himself the possibility of freeing himself from his contract a year later.

Eager to reach twenty years of career in the NBA, Kevin Love remains in a 2023–24 season at 8.8 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists on average coming off the bench (34% at 3-points). His interior-running profile is valuable to accompany Bam Adebayo in the paint, or to make him breathe, even if he becomes less and less usable in the playoffs, Erik Spoelstra preferring less crumbly players in defense.
