Jaylen Brown sees 'shooting window' for Celtics

“Being here right now, after all these years, after all the doubts, after all the ups and downs, after all the verdicts, after everything that has happened, makes the story all the sweeter. » Jaylen Brown took full advantage of the Celtics' parade through the streets of Boston, the conclusion of eight seasons of striving to get to the top.

A feeling of happiness that could be repeated in the years to come since the hard core of the Celtic franchise – Brown, Jrue Holiday, Kristaps Porzingis – was extended, before Jayson Tatum (for a record amount) and Derrick White followed this summer, in all likelihood.

“I think we have an opportunity. We clearly have a shooting window in front of us”, announces the 2024 Finals MVP. “We take things day by day. We will obviously have to stay healthy. We're going to enjoy the summer and this moment, and we'll come back next season. »

The first double since 2018?

Jaylen Brown's words are logical given the age of the protagonists and Boston's domination of the regular season and the playoffs. But it is also a feeling common to many titles: the champion is (very often) seen as the favorite for the following season, while since 2018, no franchise has managed to do the double.

Nevertheless, the duo of Boston All-Stars is young and this is why Bob Cousy, delighted to have witnessed, at 95 years old, a new Celtic victory, imagines the Celtics winning several titles in this decade of the 2020s.

Having these two as young players – 26, 27 years old – for the next few years is good news for the Celtics. They could extend this title run for a few years », announced the former playmaker, a true legend of the Celtics with his six titles won between 1957 and 1963.
