Diamonds and rubies, here are the Chiefs championship rings

Friends of good taste and discreet jewelry, you may have to look elsewhere. On Thursday, the Chiefs presented the championship rings celebrating the victory in Super Bowl LVIII.

In line with previous years, the object is rather of the sturdy type.

529 diamonds and 38 rubies are featured on each Chiefs championship ring. When you lift the top, a field appears, to reproduce “Tom & Jerry”, the action that allowed Patrick Mahomes and his teammates to score the winning touchdown in overtime against the 49ers last February.

400 championship rings distributed by the Chiefs

Each ring also displays the player's name, number, years of Kansas City titles, the Super Bowl LVIII logo or the inscription “Back to Back.” »

As in the NBA, the franchise can have as many championship rings made and distributed as it wants. In the event, ESPN reports that more than 400 copies were distributed.

Andy Reid and his players gathered Thursday evening at the Nelson-Atkins Museum to receive this symbol of their victory. After the title parade and the visit to the White House, the chapter for the 2023-24 season is now completely closed.

And Patrick Mahomes can turn to his next goal: the hat-trick.

“Now I'm going to think about how to get another ring for my little finger,” the quarterback explained. “It’s going to take a lot of work to win three times in a row. There's a reason this has never been done before. It takes a special group, and I think we have that group. »
