TV ratings | A small score for Game 1 of the Finals

The audience figures for Game 1 of the Finals, won by Boston against Dallas on Thursday evening, have fallen, and there is nothing to jump to the ceiling for Adam Silver. The enthusiasm was in fact not there among the general public, with only 11.04 million viewers recorded on ABC and ESPN Deportes.

This is 5% less than Game 1 of the last Finals between Denver and Miami (11.58 million), and 11% less compared to those of 2022 between Golden State and Boston (11.90 million). It is above all the third worst audience recorded for a Game 1 since 2007, ahead of the two “Covid” finals of 2020 and 2021 (respectively 7.69 million and 8.70 million viewers).

It's in any case a bit of a surprise, as the poster seemed so interesting, between Luka Doncic's big debut in the NBA final, and his reunion with Kristaps Porzingis, or even the return of Kyrie Irving to Boston.
