NBC plans to revive its famous theme song

Nostalgia sequence for fans of the NBA of the 1990s. The “Roundball Rock”, the famous musical theme used to introduce games on NBC, is about to return.

John Tesh himself, the American pop pianist and composer, confirmed, in the show Dan Le Batard Showthat his music was going to be the subject of a new recording, as part of the new television agreement with the NBA.

The musician claims to have already been contacted by the channel. “Nothing definitive, but they told me: 'Hey, you can stay discreet (laugh) on that?' It's like a special forces thing. 'We'd like to talk to you about it.' In fact, we are considering granting them a license for the Paris Olympic Games “, he even blurted out.

He adds : ” So we're getting there. At the end of June we go to Nashville, we have a full orchestra waiting. We're going to re-record it. The song still sounds great, but I wanted to make some changes, maybe open up the middle, maybe we can send it to you, and you can turn it into an electro track, that kind of thing! »

His intro song “Roundball Rock” was a staple of NBA broadcasts in the 1990s until NBC lost the broadcast license in 2002.
