Trade: Terrion Arnold (CB) to strengthen the Lions defense

The hosts of the 2024 draft seized their chance. Faced with the fall of Terrion Arnold, although announced in the top 15, the Lions set up an exchange with Dallas to climb to 24th position and select the Alabama cornerback.

In the process, they bypassed the rivals of the Packers placed just behind.

Detroit receives pick 24 and a 5th round pick in 2025. The Cowboys receive pick 29 and a 3rd round pick (No. 73).

Lions fill weak spot

The Lions are strengthening their air coverage, the team's weak point in 2023. With the arrival of Carlton Davis from the Buccaneers during the offseason, the Lions are offering themselves a new pair of cornerbacks.

Terrion Arnold's phenomenal speed will complement the veteran Davis' experience. In 2023, Arnold has intercepted 5 passes and defended 12 more. He also made 63 tackles, 1 sack and forced a fumble.

If Arnold manages to make a quick impact, Detroit will be able to continue aiming ever higher after a season already crowned by a participation in the NFC conference finals. After the contract extensions of Amon-Ra St. Brown and Penei Sewell, and with these defensive reinforcements, Detroit's squad hasn't looked this good in a long time.
