The incredible “Best-of” from Victor Wembanyama’s rookie season

The 2023-24 regular season is now part of history and it will be remembered that Victor Wembanyama will have been there for his rookie year in the Spurs jersey. In 71 games, the number 1 of the last Draft accumulated 21.4 points, 10.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 3.6 blocks on average, making him the best blocker in the NBA.

Candidate for the Best Defender of the Year trophy, the French pivot also became the first rookie in history to finish his first season in the NBA with at least 1,500 points, 250 assists and 250 blocks. We will also remember his crazy performance which allowed him to approach the quadruple-double, or his duels with Chet Holmgren, the young pivot of the Thunder.

But above all, “Wemby” will have delighted the basketball world throughout the season with a good number of actions from elsewhere that we find in this 32-minute clip produced by MaxaMillion 711, one of the references of the compilation on YouTube. Everything is there, from his first exploits against Phoenix in particular, to his double-block on Jabari Smith Jr, his “T-Mac” against the Bucks, his 10 blocks in Toronto, up to his extraordinary hot shot in the “ comeback” of the Spurs against Denver for its last outing last Friday.

A real treat to consume without moderation, and we understand better why his actions have exceeded a billion views this season. Looking forward to the sequel!
